About
us
We
are one of 40 local societies affiliated to Diabetes New Zealand.
We have been in operation for 30 years, and during that time,
we have seen some significant changes in the field of diabetes.
As times change, we strive to change with them, but our mission
remains the same: to support the interests of people living
with diabetes in the Rotorua region.
Mission
Statement
|
In
accordance with our constitution,
Diabetes NZ Rotorua aims to promote the health, welfare,
and interests of people with diabetes residing within the
Rotorua area, and provides an organisation specifically
for the benefit of people with diabetes, and those interested
in diabetes.
Our main aims are
to:
- Provide information
and support for people with diabetes, friends, relatives
and carers;
- Lobby for better
diabetes care and to foster communication links between
people with diabetes and service providers;
- Increase public
awareness of diabetes;
- Raise
funds for local and national diabetes related causes.
